MIDI Manager 2.0.2 is the latest version of Apple’s MIDI Management software. It fixes problems that can occur transferring large blocks of MIDI data, especially System Exclusive transfers such as sample dumps, on certain Macintosh PowerBook personal computers.
This problem occurs only on the PowerBook 140, 145, 160, 170, and 180 models. This release of MIDI Manager incorporates a change to the Power Manager that prevents loss of incoming data at MIDI speeds on the modem port of these machines.
Due to limitations in the Power Manager, only the modem port has improved handling of incoming MIDI data on the affected PowerBook models. The printer port’s behavior has not improved, so incoming System Exclusive MIDI data may still be lost through the printer port on these models.
MIDI Manager has always worked on the PowerBook 100 and all PowerBook Duo models. Installation of MIDI Manager 2.0.2 will not improve performance on other models. No other bugs were fixed in this release.
KNOWN PROBLEMS:
In certain cases problems may occur during floppy disk insertion using MIDI Manager 2.0.2 on the Macintosh Plus. Users of the Macintosh Plus may want to continue using MIDI Manager 2.0.1.
